Nintendo has officially announced the SNES Mini, after months of speculation.
A follow-up to the NES Mini, a microconsole that contained 30 pre-installed classic Nintendo games, the SNES Mini will come pre-loaded with 21 games.
As well as Super Nintendo classics such as Super Mario World, Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Metroid, the never-released Star Fox 2 will be playable for the first time.
Much to Nintendo fans’ delight, Europe will be receiving a model (pictured above) based on the European SNES.
The petite console comes with two controllers, one HDMI cable and one USB power cable.
Although an AC adapter for the USB cable doesn’t come packaged, they’re fairly easy to find and most homes already have one.
The mini 16-bit system – officially called the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System – launches on September 29 for £79.99.
Supplies are expected to be limited, so you’ll want to pre-order a unit as soon as possible.
