Zenfone Smartphone developer Asus has officially revealed its second ever world’s first AR Google Tango enabled and daydream ready Smartphone in a series of android phones designs. The ASUS’ ZenFone AR was initially showcased during a CES (Consumer Electronic Show). The Smartphone has gained considerable recognition for its augmented – reality feature. After a month’s unveiling the phone is ready to hit the market now. Asus CEO Jerry Shen revealed the details about the Asus Zenfone AR in Taiwan first during a conversation with Engadget that phone would launch in US towards the end of June or early July, this summer exclusively on Verizon.
Asus Zenfone AR is the second Smartphone, after Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, which provide with Google aspirational project, Tango. Also, supporting Google Daydream VR technologies. For those who are not familiar, Tango is a technology platform developed and authored by Google that uses computer vision to enable mobile devices, such as Smartphone’s and tablets, to detect their position comparative to the world around them without utilizing GPS, while Daydream take on the high-quality mobile VR experience.
As per the test conducted by ASUS, there are around more than 100 apps of Tango AR, out of them 40 to 50 run effortlessly on the Zenfone AR. The company pronounced that the lists of the Tango AR apps are expected to grow in abundance this year. The company would be supporting the developers by organizing AR developer conferences with Google in collaboration with Taiwanese Smartphone and motherboard maker.
Asus Zenfone AR features and specifications
The device features a huge 8GB of RAM, which makes the phone a powerhouse. Holds the a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 5.7-inch AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and offers a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, 5 magnet orator setup, and support for Daydream VR with several apps. The device will be available in different variants including a 6GB of RAM and storage option ranging from 32GB to up to 256GB. The phone features a TriCam system which has a 23-megapixel camera powered with motion tracking, depth sensing technology. The rear camera supports 4-axis OIS (optical image stabilization) as well as 3-axis EIS (electronic image stabilization) for video recording alongside support for 4K video recording.
The device comes with an 8-megapixel front camera and houses a 3,300mAh battery. The Smartphone runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat and support Hi-Res Audio. It features a Vapor Cooling’ system to keep Smartphone’s temperature under control during heavy usage of AR and VR apps.
