Gaming has come a long way, and if we talk about virtual reality it’s just far behind gaming going more feasible with its realistic feel through its continual advancements. We have experienced it from ground hand-held devices to an eye interacted feature (on what oculus touch works). But still it’s so new that the best way to interact with the system is yet not clear. MindMaze has devised a platform to build natural human machine interface mixing virtual reality (VR), computer graphics, brain imaging and neuroscience. It has formulated a head wearable device that incorporates augmented reality (AR), virtual reality and neuro-sensing, all into one.




It’s the world first perception based AR/VR system, a head mounted device that will read your brainwaves and convert them into virtual movement to interact VR video games. A startup, in Boston named Neurable is concentrating towards interpreting the brain activity to recognise a person’s intention, mainly focusing in virtual and augmented reality. The dry electrodes are being used to track brain activity via electroencephalography (EEG), the software’s used evaluates the signal to determine the action that has to be performed. You don’t really have to do anything. It’s an unconscious mind response, which is really funny and cool.
Its hardware has been designed in a bunch of electrodes which are attached to straps and span over a user’s head, along with an HTC Vive virtual- reality headset. It is build into a wireless system to share data with computer via Bluetooth. Neurable is hopeful that in coming years the companies will develop headset with sensors to proffer its technology. Basically, this technology records your brain action while showing you different objects in virtual reality, recording the changes detected from one object to another to interpret what you are trying to do.
The technology is still under experimentation, to check its accuracy and feasibility within the system. Still, it has to go through several folds before its final implementation. The idea of using the brain waves interface in virtual reality is quite interesting but it’s very difficult to track and capture it with needed speed and accuracy, because people just won’t be interested if it will not respond instantly. It cannot be said that how accurate the technology would be but Neurable said that it has improved and has been improving from its previous versions.
